A new day and a new blog!

I thought I would start a blog. I have kept a journal at livejournal.com for nearly four years. Most of my posts are about my kids, and I like the privacy settings. I also wanted a place to journal about the road to becoming a nurse.

I am a 29 year old mother of three awesome children. I am blessed to have been a stay-at-home mommy for 5.5 years now. I planned on staying home with the children until the youngest went to kindergarten, but the Lord had other plans for our family. In May of 2007, my world came crashing in when my husband told me he wanted a divorce (shortened version of the story!). I was 7 months pregnant with our third child at the time. He moved out at the end of the year, and I immediately started figuring out what to do with my future. I have always been interested in medicine. I love reading medical articles and asking countless questions while at my children's pediatrician's office. Thus, the pursuit of a nursing degree began.

Last summer, I started back to school at Vol State. (I have a B.S. in psychology from Belmont University). I took one class each semester (and will take nutrition this summer). Full-time nursing school at Belmont starts at the end of August.

While I am very nervous about putting my kids in full-time daycare for the first time, I am also excited about starting school. It has been really neat and humbling to see the way the Lord has prepared the way for me in my nursing pursuit. He is making something beautiful out of something very broken.

I can't promise this will be a very interesting blog, but I wanted to have a way to document my progress along the way.
